Engine core question

I am looking to buy a SBT engine for a GP1200 NP, but I do not have a useable 1200 core. Will SBT accept a good Kawasaki 900ZXI engine for a core, or does the core need to be the same as the one being purchased?

We would need to have the same motor. If you need to piece one together you can check out the salvage yards on the site.
