Is it true that when you add extra oil to the fuel you are effectively leaning the carb jetting?

yes and no, i think that oil burn so is not like it is taking a complete place of the gas it replaced, but if this is a stock boat the machine are a little richer and that 1 part oil to about 50 parts gas won't do that much to even worry about, and everyone that does a motor rebuild or even from the factory that add that oil and i have never heard of a problem from it

Yes it is true.
The carbs are set to mix a fuel:air ratio, and when you have oil in the fuel, it displaces some of the fuel from that ratio. The oil does not serve as a combustable only a lubricant, and the fuel:air ratio thus is leaner. With normal pre-mix ratios this effect is extremely slight and normally can be corrected with a 1/16th adjustment of the carb needles, if anything.SBT Tech Support is here to help with your problems.
