In my quest to fiqure out why my 03 zxi did this :

I pressure checked the engine. If I pump up the engine to 8lbs it will bleed down to 5.75lbs in about 4 mins and will hold that pressure all afternoon.
After I made that first post I replaced the front piston, went thru the carbs, replaced the fuel filter, and cleaned out the gas tank and lines while I had the engine out. The first time out it ran great all day, about 1 1/2 tanks of fuel worth of riding. I checked the plugs alot and never saw any signs of a lean condition. Two days later I went out again and only run about 15 mins before blowing a hole thru the front piston. I am starting to think that the fuel pump is weak
