Waxing XLT1200

In a magazine, I read you should not use a car wax on my Yamaha XLT1200. I was hoping that Kawaski could confirm that a standard car wax will work.

Kawasaki - will it?

Does anyone else have any experience with using car wax on a Yamaha Waverunner??
