I can't get the magneto cover off 1100 stx d.i.

In the manual it states to remove the 7 bolts and take the magneto cover off... it comes loose but feels as though there is a cable or wires holding it from coming completely loose. Any suggestions?

Also, the reason I am removing the magneto cover is because the bolts that hold the oil pump on have broken off in the Magneto cover due to stress failure. Has anyone had this happen to their boat?
