Im changing a SBT motor out for a friend in a 97 SL 1050 and cant get any fire after the swap. I found the ohms readings for checking everything out and they check fine. I know there is no way to check a CDI but was wondering if I may have inadvertantly fried it. I didnt look close enough when hooking up the battery and hooked up the positive and when I touched the negative to the battery the bilge pump ran. I touched it again and same thing. Then I finally figured out they were Backwards.:emoticonc Since I only touched it for a couple of seconds and never bolted it up or tried to turn it over like that, is that enough to fry the CDI? If it did then I owe him a new one.
Thanks in Advance.
