I believe the battery is draining while it is sitting.(More so than normal). My 01 gpr has the original battery in it and cranks faster than this one does and I believe it was new last summer. Is there anything I should look for that could be putting a load on it while sitting? Thanks alot.

Re: 96 xp draining battery while sitting
It will drain significantly over just a few weeks. Either disconnect a lead or use a battery tender. The MPEM pulls a good amount of juice.SBT Tech Support is here to help with your problems.

Re: 96 xp draining battery while sitting
The plotting or membrane on top of the vts module is known to crack and let in water. causing it to drain the battery. The water comes in from the rubber boot on the trim rod on rear of the ski being torn. To check to see if you have something draining the battery take a 12 volt circut light and put it between the positive cable when you remove it and the positive battery post itself. if it lights up with out the key on you have something draining the battery. then unplug the plug going to the vts module and see if the light goes out. Or any other plug to see whats draining it.

Re: 96 xp draining battery while sitting
Sorry misspoke. Meant to say pull the fuse and then check to see if it stops the battery drain I had three kids yelling and one wife screaming at them when replying I do apologize if I led anyone wrong. Clarification remove your VTS fuse and see if the problem continues.
