So I hear the 96 GTI has dual 38mm carbs and makes 10 more hp than the single 40i mm carb on the 97. I read the carb on a 98 GTI uses an accelerator pump where as the 97 doesn't. It seems seadoo tried something for 1 year and decided it needed a little more. The carb was replaced on my ski before I bought it and I have no idea where it came from or which carb it is. Is there a way to identify the 97 vs 98 carbs as the jetting will be different with an accelerator pump. The seadoo dealer rebuilt my carb this season and replaced the jets (they were severely clogged) and they used the jetting for the 97 carb. I assume they would notice if it had a 98 carb with accelerator pump but you know how assumptions go.
