Fuel lines to carbs - Zip ties?

I can't seem to re-use the metal clamps that hold the fuel lines on the carbs for my 1993 XP (657.) It should be cool just to take off the clamps and zip tie them on with medium sized zip ties right?

Also, a second issue I'm having...
There is a gray hose coming off my carbs that has nowhere to plug in. The hose had a spot to plug in on the old motor, but it looks like that has been relocated on the new motor and the cable I have won't fit.

First, is this normal? Why did the new motor ship this way?

Second, if I have to get a longer hose to accomodate the new plug location, what type should I get and where do I get it?

Just buy a longer hose from NAPA or any auto supply store. 1/4 inch fuel line hose.

Different year cases have different pulse fitting locations. Zip ties work if they are nice and tight.
