The MPEM module is here today, This is a 97' GTX 787 with no spark. There is a number 6 on the rear of the cranck case next to the id label. Does this mean that the engine timeing is
-2deg. and the MPEM should be programed to 6??? I am taking it to the dealer today to have this done.

Your dealer will know what to do.

Well, I installed the new MPEM module and took it to the dealer. They didn't know anything about the progaming of the timeing and looked at me kind of funny. They weere able to program it for the key but still no spark. I am going to print off the instructions from my CD manual and take it back later. My question is what should I try / test next. The Ign coil and MPEP have been changed and wireing has been cleaned and checked. The motor will turn over but no spark. Can you test the Regulator Rectifier or do you just need to replace it? Also can you test stator and p/u coil output?

Bill you would think the dealer would know I had my boat @ a local dealer and told him about the timing and he told me that he never had to set the timing and I did not know what I was talking about I got in my truck and went to the next dealer and they had one guy that knew about programed the timing and key for $27.50 per key
