I have recently purchased a 98 xl1200 from a salvage yard with the motor completely disassembled. The piston closest to the flywheel was bad and missing parts of it. I have ordered a motor from sbt and after reading the forums, I plan to rebuild my carbs and premix. I have never owned a jet ski before and had only used a polaris 750 prior. I figured out where everything goes and the bolts used for each item with the exception of one piece. I looked on the parts fiche and the part is call the stopper, upper mount. The piece that was in the box of parts and its bolts must go to something else. I have tried to post a picture of the stopper but haven't figured out how. The bolts for this mount that I have are almost 4 inches long and has F63N on the top. Also is there any way to test the carbs off the motor to see if it was the culprit that burned the piston. If anyone can shed any light on the subject I would appreciate the help.
