  • Yamaha Waveraider 760, very low spark

My 1996 Yamaha Waveraider will not start, it has a very light spark, could the be a ignition coil problem?
I have two jetski and they were running fine last week, this week I left them in the water overnight now they both won't start( talk about bad luck). The Polaris question is also mine. Thanks for your input. fnusraty@yahoo.com

Fisrt, I would sand the battery connections, to make sure you have good connections. How are you checking for spark to determine it's weak? Make sure the battery is fully charged and in good condition. Try your car battery to test with (don't have the car running). Put a 1/2 teaspoon of gas or so down each plug hole and try to fire it. 760's are VERY hard to cold start sometimes due to extremely high stock pop-off pressure. If the gas works, it's just the normal hard start problems and reducing the pop-off to 25 psi fixes it for the most part.

Thanks for your input bryan, I'll try that this weekend and keep you posted, if that doesn't work I'll have two jetski's for sale because this is costing me way too much. I live in Maryland and it cost's $70 an hour for them to just look at your jetski to tell you what is wrong with it anyway, thanks for you help.

I found out what the problem was, I'm not sure what the part is called (maybe the wiring harness) had moister in it. I left the seat up for a day then tried to start it the next day and it started right up.
