Blaster FPP Dry Pipe, Help!!!

I have a new FFP dry pipe trying to install. It says to install the beuna-ring in the groove on the manifold. I have no groove on my manifold. It fits perfect inside the chamber (there is a groove )where the pipe slips together, however the pipe will not fit tight in this manner. What is going on????
