- So I’m new to the jet ski game and I just purchased my first ski. 1997 Yamaha wave venture 1100 for cheap. Hooked the water up and I went to start it. It will start up but it will begin to idle very very high, or if you rev it, it will either bog down or the rev will hang for a long time and will not come back down. What could it possibly be? Dirty carbs? Air leak? I’m not sure where to start
