Just got a boat on trade for some work done. 1998 Exciter with 1200 nonpv engine. #1 was scored up pretty bad as well as #3. #2 looks pretty good. Got the topend rebuild kit and had the cylinders bored to fit. As well as had head and top of block resurfaced. Questions I have are; what controls the oil level in the block? How much should be in there? And how can you test the injector pump to make sure it is working properly? I really need to keep the injection operational as there will be different people using this boat. Can carbs be cleaned without rebuilding them? Any input will be appreciated.
