  • rpm loss- amount of gas in tank

Hello. Todays question. On my 96 Tigershark Daytona 770. I am losing rpms when fuel is full. Once I am past a half tank it is returning to higher rpm at speed. It acts as though fuel starved, new filter, fresh gas etc. (2) mikuni 38 Fuel air mix seems fine, I adjusted as told on this board and plugs look good, left lean bog minimized. Thanks in advance.

Please describe the RPM loss further. Are you just not able to reach peak RPM? Do you reach peak and they fall? Are they fluctuating? Give us exact circumstances...and the first thing I would check would be your fuel tank vent valve.

Sometimes it does not achieve peak rpm 1200rpm below max approx. Sometimes it gets there, towards clockwise in direction, counter will slow rpm. Sometime it just drops no matter what. What is gas tank vent. I see hose to throttle, hosr from carbs back to tank or vice versa and an electronic sensor (1.5" round) with wires on tank. What does vent do and what does malfunction look like? Thanks.
