  • loss in RPM's and speed

    hello,

I am having problems with My RPM's and speed. I have a 1997 Tigershark Daytona 770. Before my stock motor blew up I was running a constant 55 MPH at 6500-6800 RPM. When I put the new SBT motor in I leaned the low speed screw 3/4 in until I had a smooth idle. Then I drove it at wide open throttle then checked the plugs, they were dry. I did the same thing again at low speed, same result. Top speed is around 55-57 MPH. The next week I took it to the lake and there it was running a constant 50 at 6000-6100 RPM,(somtimes when you are driving it at full throttle for a long way it just picks up and hits 6,800 RPM at 55-57 MPH but, very rare.) Can you try to help me figure out what is going on?

    Thanks, Richard
    Richard

Why did you turn your screw in 3/4 of a turn? Set them back to the correct position, and fine tune from plug readings until the plugs are dark brown.
