        Stupid question but did ya remove the metering block and clean out under it? Same sympton's on my daytona, and its always water & gunk under the metering block.

          Reply to russthemuss: I did remove the fuel manifold and cleaned out removeable jets as well. (I presume what you call a metering block, I call a fuel manifold) and I did not think it was a foolish question. This carburation concern is driving me crazy because I can't seem to solve this issue.

            uumm have you checked the spark plug caps have a good connection with the lead? Hitting the wave may be changing the conditions. Check the fuel filter isn't colapsed inside.
            check the fuel tank vents,
            did you change the gas ?(could be water in the fuel problem) I would pull the carbs and clean them out again.Check all the hoses and the impulse line ,diaphrams etc
