• Driveshaft difficult to rotate?

Yes, bhilport's ski is still not running.

That being said, we've got a question. This is all coming from him, so I don't even know what he's really talking about.

The engine was difficult to turn over by hand, when holding the coupler at the rear. So he was thinking low compression, bearings going south, or something along those lines. Disconnected the driveshaft to pull the engine back out, and the engine is now easier to turn over by hand, and the driveshaft is still a bit difficult to rotate.

The only thing that throws me off about this is right when we dropped the engine in and hooked up the driveshaft, it was easy to turn over. I don't think the driveshaft could have all of a sudden gotten somewhat stuck. Unless 2 stroke oil would cause that problem, since there's now about 2 quarts of it in the bottom of the hull.

Any help is, as always, greatly appreciated.

I don't think the oil and driveshaft are related, unless he poured some in there for some reason. If the driveshaft is binding, pull it all out and inspect all the bearings.
