Anyone have any information on how to trouble shoot trim switch issues. I bought a brand new trim motor last year and could not get it to work with the trim switch, so I bought a used trim switch, thinking it was the switch that had gone bad, but I still have not been able to get the darn thing to work. Has anyone had this problem before? Could there be something in the brain that is causing this?

connect a battery directly to the motor it should move all the way one direction then reverse the wires and it should go back. If this works then you need to get a wire diagram and follow the power and ground sources and fine where the problem is. You will need a meter or at least a test light and some basic electrical experience.
