  • 4tec oil pressure

I have an 03 sea doo 4tec. When I first put it in the water and start the engine and accelerate a little 3000/4000 rpm, the display reads oil and the warning horn and warning light come on. This only happens a few times till the engine warms up, then it operates normally the rest of the day. Its been to the dealer 3 times now, they've changed the oil pressure sensor and then added oil a couple of times and they still can't seem to fix it. Has anyone else had this problem??

Ask your dealer about a superceded oil sending unit that SD came out with recently.

      Re: 4tec oil pressure

If it goes to the 2500 rpm limp home mode it has to do with the oil pressure sensor or the circuit or motor. The oil tank pressure sensor will put it in the 5000 rpm limp home mode. This sensor is checking crankcase pressure (blowby etc). Both will light the oil light. Like Bill say's they have new sensors, but that is all that has been available for quite a while. It's also possible you have a wiring problem (intremittent) so if they seem competent let them work on it again, that type problem is hard to find. There has been a bunch of new info about it recently also.
