'01 GP800R Powervalve Question

I've been reading some things about powervalve issues with the Yam GP800. I have an '01, and am wondering if this is something I should worry about? I'm a complete newb to the jet ski world and would appreciate any advice/info.

umm im new on this site but im here to see about orderin a new motor for my '01 GP800R because of the powervalve. you see it dropped and busted the piston and scared the cylinder wall so yes it is a prob to keep in mind

There are after market clips you can install to improve reliability.
I believe Island has them.

Go to rivayamaha.com they have great replacement power valves....
