    Re: 650-650X What's the difference?

I have a R&D Ride Plate Xtender that Bill was talking about. It does help the bounce but it isn't a 100% cure all. It's simple to install... bolts right onto the Pump. Also, I didn't feel any decrease in the Top Speed in case you were wondering. ...so if you got $80, it's a worthy investment.

Out much farther does the ride plate extend compared to the stock one?

I'd have to measure it, but if I remember, about 5 inches past the oem rideplate. It is available to the first buyer who calls 626 914 9509.

BTW, It is an R&D Extender, Ride Plate.

I have got a ride plate extender off of a 92 XP that bolts right up(I don't what brand). I will try that Bill and let you know. My motor has 181 and 178# of compression, thats pretty good, right? Yeah,Mike,my VTS is working. What about a new ride plate?

Is your comp guage working properly? From what I understand if it's a stocker the max would be around 150 psi unless modified? I had to adjust the VTS linkage at the trim motor to get the full range of up and down movement at the nozzle. You migh want to check to see if the inside nut is screwed all the way to the non threaded section of the cable. Without full range the ski will still porpoise. I have to keep mine at 3/4 down to ride out smooth. It even stays down in light chop. There's really no accurate setting. It depends on body weight and where you're sitting on the ski.

It's a craftsman gauge that I have had forever, but I have no way to calibrate it,so I guess its still accurate. Thanks Mike,it is about a twin to yours, huh? It still runs really good and is a blast to ride. My 10 year old daughter and I ride three or four times a week(we are just waterdogs i guess) I just ordered a set of flame arresters for it so i'll let you know if they help or not.

I use a liquid filled guage and show 152 on each cylinder. Mine appears to be all stock. I read somewhere that the stock flame arrester is foam. Doesn'y sound right to me. What in your's now. Mine is steel.

Yeah mine is just steel mesh. I think that the lid and snorkel make it more restrictive than the open spark arresters. Did you leave the baffle that snaps in under the seat(at the very back) in yours?

Here's a couple of pics of the exterior of my ski. Under the seat photos are also in this thread.

Yeah mine is still in. Does it help to take it out? What exactly does it do anyway?

                          Mike,
It dampens the intake nosie from induction of air into the motor. It also keeps water away from the intake that may come into the hull from the seat vents.

                          I tried to call you.
