When setting the pop-off am I looking for the pressure that it takes to completly unseat and lifts the needle or the pressure that it take to unseat the needle just enough to allow air to pass through?

    This is on a polaris '94 sl650.

    Thanks

    Re: pop-off pressure

the pressure reading that pops the needle off the seat and it must be lubricated and watch out for the spray when it pops. WD-40 is an excellent choice for doing this. Pump the guage and make it pop several times to get an accurate reading, FYI, not the first pop but the subsequent ones will give you the reading.
