  • 97 GTX maint warning info center

    Hi all,
I have just finished installing a recently purchased SBT 787 motor and new carbs for my 97' GTX. When I tried starting it for the first time I got nothing. No noise, however in the info center a red flashing light came on and it said MAINT. Where should I start looking to fix this problem I am excited to finally get this mother back in the water after 4 months. Thanks in advance for any information and help.

Make sure you connected both your ground cables to your battery.

Thanks for the quick response. One negative cable grounded to the starter and one much smaller to the rear electrical box, check...Yep done, still nothing. any other suggestions?

Make sure the battery is fully charged, and the lanyard is good and correct.

Did you install the electrical connection at the magneto housing cover?
