  • Spark plug test with AmsOil "Intercepter'

Bought my 97 GTX and 2000 RX last winter, both with TC3W oil. Spark plugs were nice and black. I Drained them, filed 97GTX with Sea-Doo mineral oil and 2000 RX with Sea-Doo synthetic oil. After that spark plugs on GTX were still looks good, but on RX with synthetic oil the central electrode is rich and black but the rim - almost clean. Then I change oil on both Jet Ski to AMSOIL "interceptor" Now on both, GTX and RX spark plugs have a dark central electrode but absolutely clean rim, like on a new plug. I tried to add more fuel to the mixture but had the same effect.
Any Ideas? Does in means that with synthetic oil, especially AMSOIL "Interceptor" results of spark plug test is invalid?
    Thank you.

Don't use synthetic or a synthetic blend on SD two strokes. Stick with the mineral oil.

NOT true at ALL Mike. 951's REQUIRE the XPS Synthetic blend Sea-Doo oil, and 787's GREATLY benefit from it. The other 2 stroke Sea-Doo's don't require it but it doesn't hurt a thing.

Since we all agree that Synthetic oil is OK, anybody have any ideas about spark plug test with the ski using Synthetic oil? Do I have a lean problem?
            Thank you.

Why are you so worried about the sparkplug rim color? If your electrodes are coloring up nicely, you are not too lean.
