  • fuel pump?

I have a 94 sl650. When giving full throttle the ski runs but not
with full power. Then after about 8-10 second there is a sudden surge
in power and the ski starts to run fine but each time I let off the throttle
and reapply wot it take several second to get the sudden surge again.
I have rebuilt the carbs. and I have had someone else look at them and they
agree that it must be something else.
What else could cause this delayed surge in power?
Could the fuel pump be the culprit or is there anything else I should be looking at?

Have You Upgraded To The Triple Outlet Fuel Pump. There Was A Problem With The Stock Fuel Pumps On These Models Not Supplying The Proper Amount Of Fuel To The Front Carb During High Rpm.sbt Also Sells A Retrofit Single Pump To Go With Your Existing Pump To Supple The Front Carb.

No I have not replaced the stock pump. That Is something that I am
planning on doing. But could a fuel pump that is old or going bad cause
the problems that I am experiencing as far as a delayed surge in power?
