  • Bearings on the crank went bad

    Good morning all,

I bought a SBT motor in April. Put an oil blockoff kit on and broke it in correctly. Motor ran great. At 30hrs, something happened and broke. Sent it in for warranty work. Thanks guys!! Anyway, they said that the bearings on the crank went. Does anyone know what could've caused this? This is my 2nd engine and I don't want to go through another. This engine we are getting flame arrestors, outerwears and a carb rejet and rebuild kit.

    Thanks for any help.

Re: Bearings on the crank went bad

It *could* be from a gulp of water, momentary lack of oil, possibly a lean condition in the carb(s) - or it could have been a part failure. We really can't say 100% by the time we get it back.
