hey ! threw a rod in my 97 gp 1200 2 wks. ago.:( center cyl. not sure why. lean or lack of oil is my guess. mixed klotz w/yamalube 2-w. might have leaned out c cyl. piston/cyl. head beat up around edges. rod broke at crank thru bottom case. in process of rebuilding. so far: new crank case, cyl bored 1over & ported, wiseco pistons. now looking at cranks. wiseco hot rods or sbt reman.? only mods planned are riva f/a w/covers & maybe head work; repair or replace. carb rebuild & re-jetting &pre-mix ,primer. am new to this & would appreciate any input on my thoughts. tks in advance.

I Have Built Several Motors Both Stock All The Way To Highly Modded. Never Had A Problem. Have 1 In A 701 That Spins 7950 All Day And No Problems After 35 Hrs. Would Recommend An Sbt Crank To Anyone Building A Motor And Needing A Crank.
