Just cleaned out the carb filters on my 96 gtx, and found the mag 50% clogged, and the PTO 99% clogged with a very fine reddish-brown substance. Also, the fuel bowl had some of this in the bottom. Don't know where this would be coming from... is this a symptom of the fuel lines deteriorating? They seem to be more of a clear color on the inside, and they look pretty good.
I'm putting an inline filter just before the carbs to hopefully eliminate this, but should those hoses all be replaced too?

    thanks,

    Re: carb filters

Replace your lines, siphon out your tank and mop it clean.
