  • Newly acquired 1997 GTI Seadoo

I am the proud owner of a like new 1997 GTI with approximately 50-60 hours total. Have ridden it only one weekend. No manual, no maintenance schedule. It appears from finding Mercury 2 stroke oil containers, that this was the type of oil in use. Is this okay, or should I use another. It ran perfectly with hi test gas, and the oil that was in it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You need to use Sea-Doo regular or XPS II oil, and 87 octane fuel.

Does this mean I should completely drain the oil in it, or will it be okay to run this tank thru it

It would be best to drain it first, yes.

what year/engine does SD specify the XPSII synthetic versus the regular injection oil? I thought is was anything with Raves but is this not the case?

Only the 951, 951 DI and 787 RFI. The 787 benefits from cleaner RAVEs but it doesn't require it.
