  • Oil light/Oil level sensor?

trying to trouble shoot why the oil light stays lit on a 98 SPX. The Oil level sensor has been replaced this year, have tried new/used fuel guage, check path of wiring to ensure connectivity. The only thing I can think of is that it is a faulty oil level sensor. I did put an Ohm meter to it, it does show a tiny bit of resistance (.01 ohms). Is there any other way to test the sensor? I did connect the 2 wires off the fuel guage and the light went off. Ideas?

It needs to be zero resistance to cut the light off, as you found by shorting the connection. Faulty sender, fairly common.
