    can a 787 crankshaft just have the gear for the counter balance replaced or do i have to get a rebuilt crank my counter failed and the gears on the counter are messed up and im thinking that the gear on the crank got chewed also thanks

      It is a very simple press operation to remove the gear and the bearings behind it to change the gear. We always do that when we get 1995 787 cranks so we can run the later model counterbalancers. A 1995 787 crank has 32 teeth, the later models use 34 tooth gears.
