  • Sea doo crank oil seals?

I was wondering if anyone could clue me in to the cause of the oil seals going out on a sea doo. Im talking about the inner ones that allow oil from the oil bath to seep into the cylinders. I just bought a 1996 xp, and Im wondering if its just age, an overheating, bad luck or what? Also, after letting it sit, and pulling the plugs out, would you notice a mist of oil coming out of the plug holes? The guy I bought it from had br9es in it, which were pretty fouled, so I replaced them with the br8es that were supposed to be in there. Just running the thing a little bit in the driveway, and letting it cool off in between to get the stabilized fuel in the carbs, the plus became fouled again, I pulled them out, dryed them off and it ran ok again. I'm not sure if its because the motor had cranked over quite a bit with an older battery and I flooded it, the seals are leaking, or the carbs just need a going thru. Id like to get it out on the water and check it out for longer than I did but i live right next to Canada, and there is already ice starting to form on the river. thanks.

backfires can couse the inner seals to go bad , or just its was there time to go , you need to find out if the seals are leaking or the checkvalves . if there oil in the crank case you will need to give it a good run on the water to clear it out , running on the hose will just foul the plugs .
