  • Polaris Carbs on a 94XP

So, I pull my carbs off of my 94XP that I got at the beginning of the summer. Time to do the winter rebuild. I find that this sucker has NEVER been rebuilt. All of the OEM paint is still on the carbs and they look BRAND new... Poblem though. As I start to dissassemble the carbs, almost every screw head either strips out or snaps off!! Even the two screws that holds the internal plate over the high and low jets, heads popped off. So, I have a 93SL650 that is being parted out and I still have the three carbs..... If I use the N/S and jets from the XP and put them into the Polaris carbs, make sure the linkage is good to go, and of course use the XP fuel system, pumps, plates and brackets.... It should work RIGHT?!

I don't want to spend a bunch of time trying to get out these massivly stuck little studs in my carbs, I wanna ride! Ideas?? Suggestions?

Or, anybody have a good shape carb setup for a 94XP that they will let go of for cheap?? I am open for suggestions!!

Eh, figures!!! What are the differences that would make them incompatable, I thought that (maybe mistaken) that my 94XP and my 93SL650 had the same carbs..

I don't think so. Will the bolt pattern allow the Polaris carbs to bolt onto a sea doo manifold? Is the bore size of the carb the same as the 94XP carb? If those things are a match, and you can use the Sea Doo linkage, then maybe they will work???

I have not had the carbs off the polaris in a few weeks. I will do that later this week and lay them side by side to see if tyhe linkages and bolts patterns will line up correctly. Any other ideas then to how to remove the studs out of the existing carbs?? I have cranked on them as hard as I can with a pair of pliers, etc.

Re: Polaris Carbs on a 94XP

The Polaris carbs should work with a 93XP intake manifold if you can find one cheap. Offhand I dont know if the linkage form the 94XP carbs will work on a 93. I think they are different. 94XP uses "I" Series 38mm Mikuni whille your Polaris and a 93 Xp use regular SBN 38's
---or----- Sell your Polaris carbs and by another set of carbs off a 94, 95 or 96 XP (96 uses dual 40mm)
            Good luck

Right now the carbs are on there way down to Bill @ watercraft magic, so he can work his "magic". If he can't fix them while being cost effective, then I have gotten a few emails from people who have the complete carb setup for my XP for under 200.
