    I think you would be very happy with a 2001 GTX DI. The hull on the 2001 is much more fun to ride then the 2002 which is much heavier. The DI seem to hold up better also while geting better fuel economy. Just my opinion.

      I have an 02 GTX DI.

      I would get the 2001 version witht the lighter hull. It gives you about a 5 mph increase in speed.

      The maintenance and reliability are great. I have done nothing more to mine than routine maintenance.

      One major difference I noticed over the carbed version is the fact that the ski burns about half the amount of gas....but twice the amount of oil. And all my research tells me that you have to use nothing but Seadoo synthetic oil - XPS.

        I have a 98 GTX RFI and a 98 GTX limited, the RFI will use about 1/2 the amount of gas as the limited.

        But the limited will run circles around the RFI all day, especially now that Chris from 1fastski, tuned my carbs in right.

        Yes gas is costly, but Id rather burn gas and have the power than save $10 and be the slow guy.

          TUNED the carbs ? if i remember i put a whole motor in there :-) SBT shortblock even :-)

          and if ya think you liked it before wait till ya get it back rejetted with FA :-)

          the carbs skis are always faster { rfi and di } are both slower then the carbed but they run smooth and sip gas { you need the money you save on gas to do repairs when the rfi and di break lol }

            I dont know what FA is but it sounds good haha.

            Yeh you put the motor in, but that didnt affect the speed, unless you put some new muffler bearings in with synthetic grease :D
