I am a Polaris man - and I am making the jump to Kawasaki. I am going to look at a STX 1100 (which was listed as a '96 - but am I wrong or was the first year for this boat '97?). Is there any specific deficiencies I should look for? If I bring a compression guage - ideally, what compression should I be looking for? The owner claims it has been sitting for 3 years - I know that can be BAD without proper prep - so guess I assume a carb rebuild. Anything else? I really love my Polaris, but I can't support it anymore without dealers. I really like the way the STX looks, but I know very little about it. Thanks for any info.
