750sts expansion joint

I had a crack in one of the water jackets, of the rear exhaust pipe, on my 750sts. I had the crack welded. I replaced the top and bottom seals on the expansion joint, while I had everything torn apart. I got everything put back together, but know, the expansion joint is leaking around the rubber boot. Do I need to remove the expansion joint, and replace some seals in it?
