  • 951 Non-matching case halfs

I may be coming up on rebuild time on my SBT short block. I noticed when I got it last year that the case halfs were clearly not an original mating pair.
I know that OEM is a machined pair. I now have some concerns about spendng alot of money on a new crank/bearings etc on a questionable case.
(FYI my first SBT shortblock looked like a matched pair, but threw a rod. The warranty block that was sent as replacement is the one in question)
Does SBT do a new line bore (or similar process) on the cases? Will standard OEM bearings work on this case?
    Thanks very much, Scott

    Re: 951 Non-matching case halfs

We have found through extensive testing including hundreds of test hours at Aligator Point, 951 cases to be non-critical in the case matching, unlike the rotary valved Sea-Doo cases (all other brands do not need matching either). Yes OEM bearings work just fine. No we do not line bore any cases.
