  • hard starting 97 gtx

hey guys my 97 gtx is a little hard to start when it sits for a few days you have to hold the throttle open and then use the choke for it to fire up it runs great but when at the lake i still have to give it a little gas to start /is this normal for the 97 gtx,??? the carbs are clean, little fuelfilters, new fuel line, coil, etc, what if i convert to a primer system ,i heard they are good but i don`t want to convert to one if i can get it start up right away, any sugeestions,,,,thanks...

Thats what the primer kits are for, so you don't have to turn it over so long to get it started. Two or three squirts and hit the start button, should fire right up.

Reach in and open the low speed needle adjusters about 1/4 turn. That may be all you need to do.
