Just aquired a 96 XP with a possible water temp problem. At cruising speed everything seems fine. At idle or under 3000 rpm the temp light & alarm comes on. Not sure why. Is there a problem???

Re: Temp alarm 96 XP
That happens when there is too much clearance between the impellor and the wear ring. Not enough water pressure at low rpm.Bill O'Neal, owner of Watercraft Magic in Glendora California, www.watercraftmagic.com

Re: Temp alarm 96 XP
It is a problem. Figure out what you need and fix it.
Bent or worn down impellor or worn out wear ring, or both?
