  • "99 GP1200 and XO prop

    I have a '99 GP1200 with the following mods:

    Riva head 41cc domes
Riva CDI set at 7800 on mod 1
    Riva reed spacer plate
    Boyesson power reeds
    Riva reed stuffers
True and welded crank with 1100 front bearing
    New rebuild .050
    Pro-Tec intake grate
    Riva ride plate
    Riva trim tabs
    Pre-mix 32:1
    Prok flame arrestors
    Choke plates removed
    Primer
    Tripple fuel pickup
    Sponson down
    Solas "XO" prop

When I was running the stock prop on this ski and before the rebuild I was running 6900-7000 rpm and a best of 64 mph. After the motor rebuild and Solas "XO" I am only running 6600-6700 rpm and best of 62mph. Will the XO prop drop the rpm's that much? It is very wicked out of the hole and on midrange but seems to have lost a little top. I am running 145 psi of compression after rebuild and had 100 psi before rebuild. I am running 100 jets for low and 135 jets for top and a pop-off of 28. Plugs look beautiful and Idles smoothly. Could it be something else besides the prop? This is the prop everybody recommended!!

    Thanks

Maybe you just got a bum prop - I have very similar mods on mine and am hitting 65 @ 7100. Maybe you should send the prop to impros?
