1100 stx onlyhits 4000 rpm or less

anyone know anything about cv carbs. everything feels fine just wont rev above 3800 to 4000rpm. have to choke it a little more thatn I'd like to start it but otherwise idles smooth just cant get speed. out of water tachs out just fine high 6 to 7000 rpm. new motor new housing and impeller. fuel lines clean good gas seems to have spark at all cylinders. thinking the slides in the body are not getting vacuum?

Here is my bet. Pull the flame arrestor cover off. Look down the carbs while accelerating to W. F. O. or wide open throttle. If the slides are sliding you will know. They can be irritating to seal.

im thinking maybe the super small vacuum holes in the body may be clogged and not letting the slides open. pulling them now unless anyone has other ideas?
