  • '00 XA1200 No water from cooling water pilot outlets

My 2000 XL1200 was run through some mud, clogging the cooling intake, overheating the engine, and melting the resonator and water tank. I replaced those parts, the engine fortunately sounds ok, but when I flush the system I have no water coming through the pilot outlets. There is no obvious blockage in the impeller area. Where is the likely area of a blockage, and how do I go about clearing it? Or is there likely another reason for no water flow?

    thanks for any help .

Im assuming you meant an XL1200 ?

How about while running it in the water....Do you get a stream out of the pisser ? If not,you probably still have a blockage somewhere.Try the hoses first....this is free.Pull each cooling line and try to blow through it.If that ok,pull the head and see if the water passages are full of sand/mud.

Do not run water through the motor without it running.
