  • 94 XP Temperature Alarm

Hi. Today my 94 XP temperature alarm went off almost right off the trailer. However, the engine and exhaust was cool enough for me to touch by hand for an extended period. At best it was warm although the probe was slightly warmer.

When I got it home I noticed the copper temperature probe was not fully secured into the head cover. Would this cause it to mis-read?

Following tightening this down I started the engine then connected the water hose to it. I allowed it to run for 15 minutes with no alarm. It was hot, like it should be, and still no alarm. At this point I could not touch it as I should not be able too and no alarm.

The only other thing I could think is that maybe it was not sucking in water to cool it when in the water. Hmmm....

    Your input is welcomed.
