  • Yamaha 760 needle valve adjust

I have a Yamaha 760 twin carb and recently rebuilt top end (bored out as much as we could without having to sleeve) and carbs. I had a tough time starting it and had to prime every time. So I replaced the reeds and went with a two stage reed. Still had problems and now it does not run well either. I pulled the carbs off again and inspected now it will start when I choke it but not easily and does not run well. I have tried to make adjustment to the high speed jets but it does not seem like it helps. I noticed that the adjustments for high speed that you show for the 760 is 3/8 but my book clymore shows 1-1/2 and I have it about 1-5/8. Any help at all would be appreciated. One other thing when you look into the carbs it looks like a milky white film but their seems to be no water in fuel. Fuel is fresh and filter is new. Thanks Joe
