  • Rotary Valve Timing

I'm sure everyone is getting tired of the same old question, but my ski is a little different. I have a 92 SP, but the previous owner replaced the engine with a 95 657, twin carbs and stainless steel prop. I just recently replaced the engine with the same size from STB. I've heard it is not the engine but the model that ditates the valve timing. With a complete seperate setup, I don't understand what the model has anything to do with it. My rotary valve cover number is 810 038, if that helps. I'm confused between 130 or 147?

It IS the engine, in your particular case. Set the valve to the specs for your engine, not the model.
