  • 1995 750 SLT takes on 6" of water in 10 minutes

picture this each time I've used it this year it takes on water quick. Yet you can put around the marina with the seat off and not find anything.

All I can think of is that some water was trapped in over the Winter, as this started with the first ride of the season.

    Any ideas?

I'm not really family with PWCs. Oh BTW I've owned this machine for aproximately 6 hours of use and have logged aprox $2500 in repairs in three visits(it spent most of the previous season in the shop, so I'm avoiding the shop.

So I guest anything could be the problem.

so when you put it in the water in the marina there is no obvious leak with the engine not running?

run it with the seat off and see where the water is coming from. on that boat, it prolly leaking at the ex man gsk, or the headpipe gsk, or it could be the cooling line from the pump has been rubbing on the lower exhaust support and worn a hole in it. sounds like you've got a big hole in the cooling system. :(

Thanks for the advice. In my looking around I still haven't figured out where the water is coming from yet.

But I'm watching that hose like a hawk.

get a flush kit connector so that you can connect your garden hose to it and run the motor and check it for leaks at home.while running it with the garden hose and the engine running move the cooling hoses inside the motor compartment around to find holes in a hose.. check the hose clamps to the cooling hoses because they eat away at the hoses. check also to see if any hose clamp is loose with a screw driver and tighten them up. you'll find the leak, it's a pretty big one by your description.

also, where the bilge lines go up to the top of the hull, then back down, there is an 'L' connector. It has little tiny pinholes. Those pinholes must be clear or it will siphon water back into the hull.

Back your trailer into the water(so the ski is almost completely in), Secure the back of the boat to the trailer and keep the front tied down like normal. Start it up, warm up for a few like usual then hit the throttle. make sure it's secure try this with the seat off and you might see the water coming in. Has the impeller/pump been off?? maybe it's not completely sealed and with time and back wash it's filling. Tat is if it's not the hoses. or a cracked thermostat housing(plastic part on bottom end of cooling rail.
