GP800 Oil warning

1998 GP 800 warning light sounded and the gauge read 1/4 when there was 2/3 in the oil tank. Removed the seat and jiggled the oil tank around solved the problem. 30 minutes later, after doing some donuts, the warning light went off again. This time shaking the tank didn't work and we towed it back to the ramp.

Any suggestions? This sounds like a loose wire or a clogged oil filter to me. Also, where is the oil sensor located. Thanks

Totally normal - it sloshes around and when it gets below 1/2 will go between the 1st and 2nd bars and set off the alrm sometimes - just deal with it.
