  • I removed the stator cover and......

Found that water has been getting in. It has corrosion and all kind of white spots, but I cant see where the water is coming from. all the o rings are there. I gonna replace the stator. When I put it back together can I use some rtv sealent around the cover, starter, and stator plug?? Maybe this will help to keep water out.

water can come in though the starter or anyother gasket . the only way to keep it 100% dry is to keep the water out of the ski . you can seal it with the right stuff . but remember even a submarine leaks :-)

Mine leaked through the starter opening because some one replaced it and used GREASE to seal it. of coarse it killed the stator. I just used OE seals and gaskets to seal it back up.

A "detent tool", sold at auto parts stores to remove terminals from a GM type connector.
